DESCRIPTION:This is the Texas License to Carry in-person course. This all-day course will fulfill 3/5 things you need to obtain your License to Carry. The 5 things needed to obtain an LTC in Texas: \n1. Fill out an application with the state \n2. Fingerprinting done at Identogo. You will receive a code from the state to make an appointment after you file your application. No they cant use previous fingerprinting you’ve already done! \n3. 4-6 hours of mandated classroom education covering the state laws pertaining to firearms\, conflict avoidance\, de-escalation\, safe storage and much more! \n4. Pass a written exam with at least a 75%. \n5. Pass the shooting proficiency with a minimum score of 175/250. \nPrior shooting experience necessary\, this is not a beginning shooting course.

SUMMARY:NRA Certified Rifle Instructor Course
DESCRIPTION:NRA Certified Rifle Instructor Course: This 2-day class includes NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and the Instructor portion to have the opportunity to become a certified rifle instructor with the NRA. The prerequisite to take this instructor class is the Basics of Rifle Shooting student level class (just prior to this class). Proof of having taken this class is a certificate of completion from any certified NRA instructor. Please bring your student manual from this class as we will be using it. All instructor candidates must fill out a pre-course qualification/questionnaire and email it promptly back to the Training Counselor. All Instructor level materials will be provided. \nThere is a written test and a shooting qualification which must be passed at a 90% or greater to obtain certification. In addition\, you will be receiving and giving feedback to your class peers. Please come dressed as you would to go to the range. You will need to bring: your rifle in any caliber as you will be shooting as a “student” as well as shooting the instructor rifle qualification\, 150 rounds of ammunition\, a shooting mat\, eye and hearing protection\, closed toed shoes and long pants. You will be shooting from the bench\, prone and standing. Safe gun handling\, loading and unloading of each action type must also be demonstrated to pass this course. \nPlease bring a lunch both days as there aren’t any close by eateries. There is a fridge and a microwave. Water is provided.

Please dress in range attire. \nThere is a prerequisite to this course of taking the student level Basic Pistol class. We have listed it just prior to this one as a convenience. DESCRIPTION:This 2-day NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor Course includes BIT (Basic Instructor Training) the lesson plans\, practical exercises and exam to become a certified shotgun instructor using the NRA curriculum. All course materials are provided. There is a prerequisite to this course of taking the student level Basics of Shotgun Shooting class. That class takes place the day immediately before this one starts. All ICs will be evaluated on their knowledge\, skills and attitude in every area. Taking this course will give you the opportunity to become a certified instructor. You will be receiving feedback from your peers as well as providing it. Please dress as you would to be on the shotgun range. \nIn order to be considered for instructor you will need to complete a pre-course questionnaire\, complete the Basic Shotgun student course\, complete the Shotgun pre-course qualification. \nThis class will be held at a private range facility. Address and payment information will be given after registering on the NRA portal from the link below. When shooting the qualification\, we may go to another private range with a trap field. If that is the case\, there will be an applicable $25 range fee plus clays cost. \nYou will need your shotgun\, 100 rounds of ammunition (shot size 7.5 or 8)\, eye and hearing protection\, lunch and any snacks needed to get through each day. Water is provided. There is a fridge and microwave available.

Some topics include: developing your plan\, self-defense firearms basics\, shooting fundamentals\, legal use of force\, conflict avoidance\, making your home more secure\, violent encounters and their aftermath and more! There will also be a discussion on gear and gadgets. The goal of this class is to de-mystify what can sometimes feel like a topic reserved for experts. \nYou will leave with a basic plan in place and understand your next steps to think about for your home defense strategy. Some of the topics covered: Developing a Home and Personal Protection Plan\, Self-Defense Firearm Basics\, Shooting Fundamentals\, The Legal Use of Force\, Encounters and the Aftermath and a discussion on Gear & Gadgets. Examples of ways to make your home more secure will also be shown and talked about. \nThis class is appropriate for Parents\, Teachers\, Concerned Citizens\, Business Professionals\, Churchgoers\, and anyone who wants to keep themselves and others safe. Having a plan is the first step. To help formulate your plan we will discuss and you will receive 5 different checklists: Windows\, Doors\, Exterior\, Home-Defense Plan and Mental Exercises checklists.

DESCRIPTION:USCCA Conceal Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals Instructor Course – upon successfully completing this 2-day course\, you will become USCCA Certified Instructor\, uniquely authorized to teach the USCCA course\, Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals. This course has become the gold standard across the United States for law abiding Americans seeking to obtain their concealed carry permit. As a CCHDF Instructor you will have a comprehensive and flexible way to teach your future students. There are full-day classes\, half-day\, and one-hour mini-classes you will be able to teach\, reaching busy people with more flexible options to continue their firearms education. \nAs a USCCA certified instructor\, you will be trained and equipped to provide world-class instruction to students. You will have access to our world class classroom materials (including a full set of PowerPoint presentations and classroom videos). There are also lots of extra training presentations available such as the Real Estate Agent Safety video\, and more! \nDuring this two-day training course\, you’ll be taught by a USCCA Training Counselor on a number of valuable topics\, including: The top ten instructor mistakes\, and how to avoid them; teaching best practices; and running a safe live fire range. You’ll also have a chance to demonstrate your knowledge of the USCCA training material through seven short presentations to a group of your peers\, as well as running a live fire range\, guiding your peers through the safe completion of the USCCA course of fire. After completion of this course\, you’ll not only be intimately familiar with the USCCA training methodology and materials\, you’ll be a far better instructor and presenter\, regardless of the topic of choice. Prior to the class\, you must complete the corresponding eLearning. The e-learning component takes about 8 hours but is flexible so you can complete a session and walk away if needed and then log back in to move forward. After successfully passing the class\, you will be sent an instructor shirt and toolkit with 10 textbooks\, 10 copies of USCCA Conceal Carry magazine\, room posters\, a cap and instructor polo plus valued at $450. \nPlease note that there is an e-learning component to this class that must be competed 48 hours BEFORE the first day of class.  Upon registration a detailed email will be sent to each Instructor Candidate.  Each Instructor Candidate must pass a shooting qualification and safe gun handling standards. The qualification is un-timed and you may use a pistol mounted optic.
