DESCRIPTION:NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor Course: this 2-day course includes BIT (Basic Instructor Training)\, lesson plans\, practical exercises\, written exam and shooting qualification to become a certified NRA Instructor. Attendance in this class is an opportunity\, not a foregone conclusion. You must possess the knowledge\, skills and attitude to pass and become certified. You will receive feedback from your class peers as well as give feedback. There is some documentation that needs to be filled out and sent in promptly after registration. This documentation is on the site where you register. Print it out\, fill it out and email to the Training Counselor. This course takes place at a private range facility. Payment info and address will be given in an email following registration here. All training materials are provided. Please bring your student Pistol Handbook to class as we will be using it. Please dress in range attire. \nThere is a prerequisite to this course of taking the student level Basic Pistol class. We have listed it just prior to this one as a convenience. If you’ve already taken this class\, you must provide proof in the form of a signed completion certificate from an NRA Instructor. You will need your firearm in 9mm-.45acp\, 100 rounds of ammunition\, eye and hearing protection and any food and snacks you need to get through the day. There is a fridge and microwave and water is provided.

All course materials are provided. There is a prerequisite to this course of taking the student level Basics of Shotgun Shooting class. That class takes place the day immediately before this one starts. All ICs will be evaluated on their knowledge\, skills and attitude in every area. Taking this course will give you the opportunity to become a certified instructor. You will be receiving feedback from your peers as well as providing it. Please dress as you would to be on the shotgun range. \nIn order to be considered for instructor you will need to complete a pre-course questionnaire\, complete the Basic Shotgun student course\, complete the Shotgun pre-course qualification. \nThis class will be held at a private range facility. Address and payment information will be given after registering on the NRA portal from the link below. When shooting the qualification\, we may go to another private range with a trap field. If that is the case\, there will be an applicable $25 range fee plus clays cost. \nYou will need your shotgun\, 100 rounds of ammunition (shot size 7.5 or 8)\, eye and hearing protection\, lunch and any snacks needed to get through each day. DESCRIPTION:Are you having a hard time seeing your iron sights? If so\, the red dot optic is a game changer for aging eyes and long-arm syndrome. Is your red or green dot a mystery? Come learn all about it and why its such a game changer. Are you struggling with finding the red dot consistently? If so\, your pistol presentation is incorrect. Are you thinking about getting a dot optic for your pistol? Come learn all about this fantastic technology and how to utilize it. People have remarked that using the dot is like cheating. \nWhen used correctly the red dot is an absolute game changer. If used incorrectly\, you are negating the advantage and might as well be using iron sights. We will start in the classroom and then go to the range to zero your optic at 10 yards and get lots of practice with the correct pistol presentation out to the target. \nCourse Objective: Develop the basic skills to zero your mounted optic\, and access and utilize the dot consistently. You will learn the way to present your pistol in order to see the dot every time. There is no pre-requisite for this class.

You need to refresh on these issues as laws change regularly. \nIn this half-day class students will be guided to understand conflict avoidance and situational awareness\, develop a home security and home defense mindset and plan\, handgun\, shooting fundamentals\, the physiology of violent encounters and most importantly\, the legal aspects of using deadly force\, including what to do in the aftermath. It includes a brief overview of gear\, gadgets as well as ongoing training options.
