NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor Course

This 2-day NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor Course includes BIT (Basic Instructor Training) the lesson plans, practical exercises and exam to become a certified shotgun instructor using the NRA curriculum. All course materials are provided. There is a prerequisite to this course of taking the student level Basics of Shotgun Shooting class. That class takes place the day before this one starts. All ICs will be evaluated on their knowledge, skills and attitude in every area. Taking this course will give you the opportunity to become a certified instructor. You will be receiving feedback from your peers as well as providing it. Please dress as you would to be on the shotgun range.

In order to be considered for instructor you will need to complete a pre-course questionnaire, complete the Basic Shotgun student course, complete the Shotgun pre-course qualification.

This class will be held at a private range facility. Address and payment information will be given after registering on the NRA portal from the link below. When shooting the qualification, we may go to another private range with a trap field. If that is the case, there will be an applicable $25 range fee plus clays cost.

You will need your shotgun, 100 rounds of ammunition (shot size 7.5 or 8), eye and hearing protection, lunch and any snacks needed to get through each day. Water is provided. There is a fridge and microwave available.
